Why This Role

• The Head of Cyber Security/ Founding Security Engineer plays a vital role in designing, enabling, and delivering the Cyber Security Vision and Strategy within the company.

• You will tackle complex security issues within a technically and regulatory challenging environment and lead a dynamic team of hardworking and enthusiastic technical specialists across the cyber security domain while providing mentoring and professional development to enhance their expertise and core skills while taking personal responsibility for their career development. You will be an evangelist and advocate for team security and promote the right security behaviours across the organisation.

• The main focus areas for the team today includes:

•  Application security to improve the development process, security reviews

• Security DevOps

•  Automated security tests and build-in controls

•  Penetration testing, vulnerabilities investigations, audits

• External and internal communications about security practices, incidents

Requirements

• Hands on technical leader who can get her hands dirty 

•  A strong technical background across Networks, Security, Firewall, Vulnerability Management, SIEM and EDR technologies, and have experience with cyber security concepts, such as Threat Modelling, Incident Response, Penetration Testing (external/internal)

•  In addition, you will have advanced knowledge of cloud products and services eg, Oracle, AWS, familiarity leading and developing in Agile working environments, creating high performing teams and promoting a digital delivery culture, emotional intelligence with the ability to recognise and manage the needs and expectations of customers, both internal and external, whilst juggling priorities

• Extensive and progressive experience with Application and API security, Vulnerability management, Red/Blue teaming, Database security and OWASP

Bonus:

• If you have created security functions from scratch.

Qualifications

•  BE/MS/PhD in computer security or related fields. 

• 10+ years of security domain specific experience showing progression through a number of roles with increasing responsibilities, 

• Relevant and current industry qualifications and certifications (eg CISM, CISSP, CCP), 

• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
